4 Tips to Get Honest Customer Feedback Online

Holiday shopping season, including Small Business Saturday, is fast approaching. What better time to focus on getting great and honest customer feedback online?

Below are 4 tips to try, so read on.

Surveys and Polls

Probably the simplest way for you to get feedback and for your customers to give feedback is through a brief online survey or poll. Survey Monkey is one site that you can use to create free, easy, and simple surveys. Business Pundit offers some additional survey software suggestions in 8 Ways to Get Honest Feedback from Customers.  

As for polls, Facebook offers an easy-to-use polling platform (Questions) that you can create on your business page. However, this type of poll disregards anonymity, so a survey may provide the best, most accurate, and honest customer feedback.

Review Sites

If you haven't joined TripAdvisor, Google Places, or other review sites yet, you should. Once you have these accounts set up, encourage your customers to post their reviews and feedback directly on these sites.

Giveaways

Offer a reward for customers who take your survey, poll, or who just give you feedback in any number of platforms. Rewards can be big or small. Consider a coupon, discount, or a favorite product from your business. 

Giveaways can also come in the form of a contest. Whatever you choose to give away, whether to many people or one lucky winner, remember that giving your customers something will show you appreciate their business and feedback while giving them an extra incentive to give you their business and feedback. 

Social Networks

Use your social networks to create communities that are open to questions, concerns, and feedback among you and your customers as well as your customers and eachother. 

Initiate discussions by posting interesting content, photos, and questions. Respond to customers quickly and adequately. Though many people overlook Facebook and other networks, social media has proved to be an effective means to gain and maintain a customer base and a brand community.
